New Community COGIC Usher Board.
Our Motto: “If Every Usher was just like me, what would this Usher Board be?”
Our Theme: New Beginnings/Dedicating our serving to the Lord
The New Community COGIC Usher’s Pledge for 2015: We pledge by the help of God to do our best to serve our church with a pure heart, clean hands, and a breath that will not be offensive to those we welcome into the house of the Lord.
We further pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the board and our superior officers; to attend our meetings and serve when called upon, unless we can give a reasonable excuse; and to keep our financial obligations of the board as near as possible.
Usher’s Psalm: The Lord is our light. He is the joy of our salvation, of whom then shall we be afraid. We are doorkeepers in the house of the Lord. Yea though we meet with unpleasant conditions, we must keep smiling, for we must enter into His praise. Yea, though we walk through the shadow of kindness, we must smile, for the beauty of the Lord is upon us; our countenance is filled with light, the light of love, patience and endurance. We shall strive to give joy to the sorrowful, hope to the lost, sunshine to the darkness, and we shall remain a doorkeepers in the house of the Lord, as long as we live…….
We (the ushers) are the people’s first impression of who and what Christ and this church body is. We are Christ’s ambassadors with a mission to bring people to God. In us the hospitality of God is seen. We are beneficial because we are the Church. Our role is important because it is the Lord we serve. We must welcome people to the Lord’s House with a smile that speaks more than a thousand words. We help reach and keep people coming to church. The usher duties can be summed up in a few words – making people feel welcome at church, assisting pastors and other highly authority saints, assisting with seating, collecting offering, and maintaining a safe environment.
Our Goals for 2015 New Community Usher Board:
• Assure that everyone who enters the sanctuary feels Welcome
• Gain full dedication/commitment from all ushers
• Master new ideas and changes within the ministry
• Captains/ushers arriving at least 15 to 30 mins before service starts
• Every member attend all monthly meetings or at least one every other month.
• Increase our Usher Membership
• Master the hand signals
• Increase our budget with “Great fundraiser ideas”
We, the COGIC Usher Board, are in need of Adult ushers, men and women. If you are good in the Customer Service area, we need you but most of all God needs you to be a servant for Him, to usher His people into His house of worship.
We are like a family. During our monthly meetings we celebrate birthdays with a small token of Love and a small treat for everyone to enjoy. We have “Great” Christmas Celebrations at the end of the year to celebrate “You” for your hard work and dedicate throughout the year.
If you would like to join us, please contact:
